To most in Charleston, South Carolina, June 17, 2015, probably started out like any other day, but the tragic events that unfolded shortly after 9:00 PM would set this day apart forever. When a white supremacist opened fire at the historic Emanuel AME Church, murdering nine African Americans, it may have seemed like evil had triumphed. In the days that followed, however, the world watched as hell learned it would not have the final say. Instead, a “forgiveness revolution” gained traction and could not be stopped. Rose Simmons, who lost her father in the massacre, has since become an ambassador of forgiveness, sharing her story of pain and hope wherever doors of opportunity open. This year, the doors will open for her at Center of Hope LA, Madison Park Church of God, and the Church of God of East New York as the Church of God welcomes her to all three Regional Conventions. Evangelism the Focus of Mid-Year Leadership Conference 2020

Even the most dedicated leaders in the church recognize the vitality of rest and renewal. When sunshine and warmth cloak the country from coast to coast during the summer months, opportunities for rest and renewal commonly come in the form of Church of God conferences and camp meetings. But often the most trying times in ministry arise in the midst of those long winters, and not just the kind that bring snow and ice. The Mid-Year Leadership Conference has faithfully served the Church of God movement as a respite for pastors and lay leaders needing a boost; sometimes, for instance, you simply can’t wait until Camp Meeting at West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. This year’s Mid-Year, which annually moves to different winter-havens, will take place in Charleston, South Carolina. Outstanding Leaders, New Activities Highlight Women’s Convention 2019

Every two years, women of the Church of God gather together in a select city to reconnect, worship together, and grow together. Hosted by Christian Women Connection, the event has welcomed women and men from across the country and beyond to destinations like Dallas, Seattle, Nashville, and Daytona Beach. This year’s Church of God Women’s Convention will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, October 10–13, and will feature some of the brightest and best women preachers, worship ministers, and conference leaders the Church of God has ever known. Combined with new service opportunities and new tracks for women in ministry and clergy wives, “Women Shaping the Future” is certain to be one of the most anticipated events of the year.
