The last four months may have been a blur, but Pink Door is up and running. We welcomed our first recovery program participant on January 20, so these first weeks have been filled with doctor appointments, visits to German governmental offices, psych evaluations, language evaluations, teaching her how to shop, cook, clean, and use public transportation. It’s amazing how many life skills are never developed when someone is reduced to less-than-human status, abused, abandoned, and forgotten. It’s a miracle how these women blossom when given a chance at a new life. So, we’re off and running with perseverance the race marked out for us, never alone, often exhausted, but always encouraged and reminded daily of your sacrifice that has made Pink Door a reality—never taking for granted the great privilege it is to join God in his mission of reconciliation. Thank you, Church of God. Your generous support of CHOG TraffickLight is not only rescuing women and children from the horrors of human trafficking, but is also preventing trafficking from happening in the first place. No one will ever know for sure where each girl would be today had they not found refuge and unconditional love at the Shelter, but one thing is certain: these girls did not end up as victims of human trafficking. Thanks to your support, the Shelter is now celebrating major improvements designed to enhance security, bless the girls with better living conditions and, as capacity increases, welcome more girls. A newborn gasps for a breath of air, but can’t seem to get enough. While tremors and tics disturb her gaunt, fragile form, cries emanating from her weakened lungs simply cannot be consoled. Painful diarrhea and difficulty eating add to a long list of symptoms that plague this helpless one made in the image of God. Something is wrong. Something is very, very wrong. No baby should ever come into this world dependent on the drugs of her mother’s addiction. Yet, the mother doesn’t need more shame and guilt. So in Paragould, Arkansas, the House of Virtue has stepped in to love these mothers and their infants with the love of Christ—and put a serious dent in drug dependency. Continue reading

Fashion advice. Hairstyle tips. Makeup how-tos. Health and business headlines. Not exactly what you’d expect from a ministry publication. Perhaps that’s, in part, why Tatum Osbourne, CEO and founder of BE U Enterprises, chooses to include these items in her magazine. Through the magazine, seminars, and online communication, Tatum’s ministry reaches women where they are, and then teaches them to glorify God in every area of their lives. Continue reading
