Twenty years ago, the picture of the Church of God in Côte d’Ivoire looked nothing like it does today. Roughly twenty-five individuals, mostly English-speaking immigrant Christians from other African countries outside of French-speaking Côte d’Ivoire, composed the new fellowship. Larry and LeAnn Sellers, missionaries to Côte d’Ivoire, offer an update on the impact of Ebola on the church and community in West Africa. Continue reading

Over a year ago, our missionaries Larry and LeAnn Sellers invited me to return to Côte d’Ivoire to teach another group of Ivorian Pastors at the West Africa Bible Institute. Our partnership with the Ivorian church has grown extensively over the last eighteen years. People and pastors from East Side Church of God have provided work camps, funding, and teaching. Pastors from Côte d’Ivoire have visited East Side on three occasions over the last decade. My returning to teach a class this September was simply another link in the chain that connects our congregation to the congregations of this West African nation. But God had other plans, perfect plans with incredible timing. Continue reading
