Twenty years ago, the picture of the Church of God in Côte d’Ivoire looked nothing like it does today. Roughly twenty-five individuals, mostly English-speaking immigrant Christians from other African countries outside of French-speaking Côte d’Ivoire, composed the new fellowship. Pastors from Côte d’Ivoire have visited East Side on three occasions over the last decade. My returning to teach a class this September was simply another link in the chain that connects our congregation to the congregations of this West African nation.
