Bolivia: A New Joel

Once upon a time, in a small Church of God in Bolivia, South America, there was a four-year-old boy named Joel. He was restless. He participated in very little during Sunday school, and he did not pay much attention to his teacher Irene, either. In addition, he showed his fist to any child who kept looking at him. This type of behavior drew the attention of missionary Kattia Jones, who decided to speak with the teacher. The conversation led to another topic that the missionary suspected was the main reason why Joel behaved that way. Continue reading

Have you ever seen the altars full at your church? Isn’t it a glorious sight? But have you ever seen almost the entire church at the altars? On Sunday, September 11, this response to the powerful moving of the Spirit wasn’t uncommon. The more than two hundred congregations of the Church of God in the United States and Canada that participated in their first-ever Cry Out to the Lord prayer experience yielded more than fifty stories of blessing and transformation. Far more than an event that comes and goes and is soon forgotten, Cry Out to the Lord has reignited a passion for prayer in the Church of God. Continue reading
