Gaithers to Host Tribute Concert for AU’s Edwards

Anderson University alums and legendary Christian recording artists and lyricists, Bill and Gloria Gaither will host a special tribute concert to honor President James L. Edwards and Mrs. Deanna Edwards on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Reardon Auditorium. The special celebration concert is free and open to the public. Bill and Gloria Gaither will be among a special list of speakers and performers that include Sandi Patty, the Anderson University Chorale, Jay and Amy Rouse, the Anderson University Wind Ensemble, Carl Erskine, a student gospel quartet and members of the Edwards family. The event will also include special moments of recognition from campus members as well as recognition from local, state and national offices. Continue reading

AU: Woven Threads Live Concert CD Now Available

Recently Anderson University hosted two special concerts entitled “Woven Threads” that brought together some of AU’s most well-known alumni musical talent to support the university where each developed their talent and began their careers. A special CD of the live performance is now available for purchase online at Rivet Merch.

“Woman Threads is a gift of love to Anderson University,” said President Dr. James L. Edwards. “We are so grateful to Sandi Patty and each of the artists who have given so generously of themselves to provide a truly unique project, one I know you will love.” Continue reading

Concert to Feature Patty, Gaithers, McLaughlin and More AU Music Alumni on Sept. 22

Anderson University alumna and renowned award-winning Christian recording artist, Sandi Patty, will host a special concert of several musically accomplished AU alumni on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in the York Performance Hall on the Anderson University campus for the benefit her alma mater. Patty will be among an amazing list of performers for a live performance featuring legendary gospel artists, Bill and Gloria Gaither and pop rock singer-songwriter, Jon McLaughlin. Also taking the stage will be Dove Award-winning Christian band Sidewalk Prophets, as well as Jeff Owen, lead guitarist of Tenth Avenue North. Dove Award-winning songwriter Christa Wells will join this impressive list of artists as well as singer-songwriters Ally and Anna Long of the Christian band Alanna Story. The More We Get Together: Gospel Music Unity Services Spread

Unity services are not altogether a relic of the past. In recent years, more churches are discovering they can do more together than apart. Some are coming together for fellowship and worship; others are realizing the greater impact of joint service projects in their communities. Ultimately what brings them together isn’t the point; the fact that they are getting together reflects a foundational oneness of the body of Christ that can’t be divided by distance, cultural chasm, or generational gap. The love of the Lord and good old gospel music are bringing congregations from several Midwest states together for times of spiritual refreshment and revival. Continue reading
