Merv Bennett, chair of the search committee and board of trustees of Servant Solutions announced that Jim O’Bold has been selected to become the sixth president in the seventy-year history of Servant Solutions. The naming of Rev. O’Bold as president-elect is subject to ratification by the General Assembly of the Church of God at Convention 2019 in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Bennett had this to say about Jim O’Bold’s selection: “The search committee has been at work for the past seven months, and it is a great privilege to share this good news that Rev. Jim O’Bold has been unanimously selected to serve as our next president at Servant Solutions, subject to the General Assembly’s ratification next month. We believe Jim is equipped and prepared to lead the rich history of Servant Solutions’ ministry.”
Jim O’Bold currently serves as executive vice president and has been a part of the Servant Solutions team for nearly nine years. Prior to joining Servant Solutions, he enjoyed a long and successful banking career in the Indianapolis area. Mr. O’Bold has been deeply involved in the life of the church for many years at the local, state, and national level. He has also been an involved community servant. He and his wife of thirty-two years, Felisia, work side by side in many ministry endeavors. They have three married sons and three grandchildren, soon to be four. Jim and Felisia are active members of Crosspoint Church, a Church of God congregation in Fishers, Indiana.
Rev. Jim Feirtag, vice chair of the board of trustees for Servant Solutions, offered these comments: “We are so excited about what Jim brings to the role of president. Of course, he comes with the necessary financial experience both inside and outside of Servant Solutions, but he also brings in added pastoral experience in the local church. This will serve him well in his new role.”
If ratified by the General Assembly, Jim O’Bold will take his post as president on July 1, 2019. The board of trustees has worked closely with staff members and with Jeff Jenness, current president, to assure a smooth transition. Mr. Jenness will work through the end of 2019 to assist with the transition process.
Mr. Jenness added these thoughts: “I am so thrilled that the board has selected Jim to serve as president. His love for the Lord and the church runs so deep. He has endeared himself to people throughout the Church of God and beyond, and his commitment and love for the mission of Servant Solutions is unquestioned. I believe an incredibly bright future lies ahead for our organization as it works to fulfill its ministry mission to strengthen financial security for servants of the church.”
Chairman Bennett expressed thanks to the search committee, which includes Rev. Jim Feirtag, Dr. Jerry Grubbs, Dr. Gordon Steinke, and Ms. Jean Hartley.
