The Church of God in northern Italy in many ways is a miracle. In a region where evangelical Christianity is an unpopular minority religion, the two Church of God congregations are drawing dozens of young people to their doors. You may hear dozens and lose interest. But in Europe and the Middle East now, the average size of a church can be twenty. And the average age of those twenty people could be fifty or higher. So dozens of youth who are desiring to be disciple is a very big deal.
The Three Worlds team, and Daniel and I, are working closely with the leaders in northern Italy, the Lovaglio family, to come alongside the work that God is doing in their church. Marcos Lovaglio and his leadership team in Arco, Italy, are fervently seeking God’s heart as they reach out to youth in their area. They are going to have their first-ever youth summer camp this July! Please be in prayer for the camp and for funding to help make it possible for every youth that wants to attend to do so. We’re looking for churches and individuals to invest in these young people by helping provide scholarships to make this camp and future camps possible.
We’re thrilled that Marcos’s brother, Nicola Jr., just committed to pastoring the Church of God in Treviso, full-time. This gives each church plant a dedicated pastor to focus on the church and the needs of each community. The two Churches of God are over an hour apart, but will work closely together.
Our team is excited for the vision and kingdom work taking place here. We want you to get excited, too. Just like we are celebrating the faithfulness of God in bringing the dream of the Pink Door transition house to fruition this year, we are laying the next dream at his feet—the dream of a regional youth training center in Arco, Italy. This center would provide the church the space that it desperately needs, provide the youth and children with whom the church works a safe space to gather, and allow youth leaders from all over the region to gather and receive valuable and relevant training.
One of the reasons that we are in Holland is because we sensed that God was at work here, and we wanted to be a part of what he is already doing. We’d like to extend an invitation to you to also come alongside something that God is doing in in our region. Please pray for this youth training center and the dream of what God can do in Arco, Italy. We would love to hear from you or your church if you are interested!
