These young women and men are not in it for the entertainment. If they were, you might see them come and go, offering little more than a performance. But these featured worship leaders for the Regional Conventions and IYC2016 are going way beyond providing convention-goers with a temporary worship experience. Alanna Story, products of the Church of God themselves, have set out to resource the Church of God with practical tools for the local church.

We Hymn puts a fresh touch on the classic hymns of Christendom and offers some new lyrics, as well. Melodies generally remain familiar, but the updated arrangements promote wider accessibility to the 21st century church. Cognizant of the timeless nature of these treasured poems set to music, Alanna Story determined to preserve such truths forever relevant to our world. More than another CD, We Hymn was released in conjunction with a worship leader toolkit to come alongside the local church and equip them to continue singing the hymns of our faith.

“From the very beginning, our heart for this project was to be used to bring unity in the church,” Alanna Story’s Ally West explains. “Worship music is an area that has and continues to divide congregations, plain and simple. We know it is not God’s heart for his people to be separated and dismembered, especially over something that he loves so much. His great joy is when we are together in unity, singing his praise. We know that the hymns hold timeless truths and beautiful melodies, for us all, no matter what age. These songs speak to all generations. With that said, we want worship leaders to have all the tools they need to make these songs come alive in their own churches. Whether you lead with a choir and orchestra, a band or want to sing one of these songs as a soloist, you can lead these songs and have everything you need!”

The Worship Leader Toolkit includes a copy of the brand-new We Hymn CD, the complete sheet music book, complete digital charts and scores, all track stems (mp3), and all instrumental tracks. Songs include:

• “We Hymn”
• “Solid Rock”
• “Breathe on Me, Breath of God”
• “When We All Get to Heaven”
• “Holy, Holy, Holy”
• “Crown Him”
• “My Jesus, I Love Thee”
• “I Am the Lord’s, I Know”
• “When All is Said and Done”
• “Be Still, My Soul”

Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, hosted Alanna Story for a special album-release worship experience on April 2. The new arrangements of the beloved hymns were received very well. “We were so blown away by the night,” Ally recounts. “People showed up ready to sing loud and praise God with their whole hearts. I don’t think I have ever experienced such loud singing at one of our events, especially releasing a brand new project, but it’s because they knew and love these songs…it was truly a glimpse of heaven.”

Don’t miss Alanna Story at the Regional Conventions and IYC2016! They’re excited about the chance to worship through some of these hymns and the impact they still have on the Church of God. Ally concludes, “We believe God is getting us ready for worship around his throne one day soon and our desire is to move closer and closer to his heart than ever before, this side of eternity.”
