The International Youth Convention, better known as IYC, has been creating a moment of life change for high school students and adult leaders alike since the early 1920s. Because of IYC, thousands of young men and women have encountered God in new and exciting ways while also making life-changing decisions. Hundreds have decided to go into full-time vocational ministry or missions. Over the last decade alone, thousands of youth have pledged to remain sexually pure. Since 1992, participants have given back to each host city with an estimated $500,000 worth of volunteer service hours in total. Without a doubt, Jesus Christ continues to remain at the center of every detail behind this convention as the kingdom of God continues to expand through its efforts.

This summer, July 5–8, the four-day biennial gathering will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, emphasizing the theme “InTUNE.” Speakers and artists from around theIYC_2012_Denver_worship_FORWEB globe will unite together in this exciting and lively city to encourage and challenge students to live InTUNE with Purpose, Purity, Power, and People. The theme verse for IYC2014 comes from Galatians 5:25—“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit” (NIV).

Since the launch of STW at IYC2002 in Denver, Colorado, more than $650,000 has been collected to help provide tools for evangelism across the globe! Thirty-four countries on six different continents and nearly ninety missionaries and national ministry leaders have been supported by STW funds. Students who attend IYC2014 will have another chance to change the world through STW.

Special Guests

There are many reasons why IYC2014 is going to be a truly life-changing and empowering encounter with the Lord. Worship leaders such as Alanna Story and the Passion Band with leader Kristian Stanfill have wholeheartedly agreed to join in this encounter of worship. Both of these worship groups place a strong emphasis on encountering the presence of God.

Isaiah 40:8 reads, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever (NIV).” Four dynamite speakers will be present at IYC2014 to communicate the everlasting word of our God with boldness and confidence: David Nasser, Becky Tirabassi, Kyle Idleman, and Greg Stier.

The renowned Skit Guys, consisting of best friends Tommy Woodard and Eddie James, will challenge and encourage students to live InTUNE through biblically-centered skits and dramas that are sure to make anyone laugh. Dove Award–winning “New Artist of the Year” For King & Country will be offer a venue artist option.

Partners in Prayer

Maybe you aren’t able to make it to IYC2014 this summer as either a student or adult leader. If this describes you, there are still many ways that you can support and be a part of this life change for the kingdom of God. Please make an intentional effort to partner with us in prayer for IYC2014. Pray that the hearts and minds of the students will be open and ready to accept the truth and freedom that can only be found in Christ. Pray that God will move and speak through the worship artists, speakers, and other leaders who will be pouring their hearts into the students. Pray that Jesus Christ will remain the subject of every aspect of IYC2014.
